Local philanthropist Gordon Hartman’s Special Needs Park is being constructed on the east side of San Antonio at the former Longhorn Quarry. The project is 21 acres and will be the largest special needs park in the world. Some of the amenities include an 8 acre lake, train rides, an amphitheater, a special events center, ball fields, and much more. At completion, the park will be free of charge to all guests. This wonderful project is being funded through private donations and a large grant from the Gordon Hartman Family Foundation.
Yantis Company jumped at the opportunity to be involved with the project. Mr. Hartman gave Yantis Company the task to perform all earthwork, site utilities, and parking lot construction on the project.
More information on the park and its amenities can be found at www.soarsa.org. Information on the Gordon Hartman Family Foundation and how you can help can be found at hartmansa.org.
